A wire rope sling comprises of a single length of wire rope, generally with the ends turned back and secured, by either aluminium or steel ferrules to form eyes protected by a steel thimble secured during the splicing operation. Other end terminations are available upon request. Wire rope slings are constructed with wire rope with a core made of wire strand or fibre to form a woven-like texture that is extremely strong and durable. Wire rope slings are normally made to order, to a specified effective working length (EWL) and working load limit (WLL).
