Petzl WILLIAM

Lightweight asymmetrical large-capacity karabiner

The Petzl WILLIAM is a lightweight asymmetric karabiner made of aluminium with a generous gate opening allowing for easy attachment of several ropes and slings. The wide pear shape facilitates belaying with a Munter hitch while the Petzl Keylock system helps prevent snagging of the karabiner during manoeuvres. Utilising an H cross-section ensures an improved strength-to-weight ratio and protects traceability markings from abrasion. Each karabiner is individually tested and given Petzl's standard three year guarantee against any defects in materials or manufacture. The WILLIAM is available in three different locking systems:

    Automatic BALL-LOCK locking system:
       - Green dot indicates when sleeve is locked
       - Quick to unlock in two steps, by pressing on the green dot and turning the sleeve
       - Can be opened and closed with one hand
       - Recommended when a karabiner needs to be frequently opened and closed

    SCREW-LOCK locking system:
       - Red indicator provides a visual warning when the karabiner is unlocked
       - Recommended for harsh environments (mud, ice), where dust and dirt could cause an automatic locking mechanism to malfunction
       - Recommended when a karabiner needs to be opened and closed occasionally

    Automatic TRIACT-LOCK locking system:
       - Unlocks quickly in two steps, by raising and then turning the sleeve
       - Recommended when a karabiner needs to be frequently opened and closed
