Petzl OXAN Steel Karabiner series
Detail
Rugged and compact, the OXAN karabiner is particularly suited for use in difficult environments such as setting up fixed anchors and for connecting to metal structures. The versatile symmetrical oval-shape allows for the optimal positioning of equipment (pulleys, rope clamps, mobile fall arresters, etc). Used in conjunction with a CAPTIV positioning bar to favor loading of the karabiner along the major axis, to keep it integrated with the device, and to limit the risk of it flipping. The Keylock system helps prevent snagging of the karabiner during manoeuvres. The H cross-section design ensures an optimal strength/weight ratio and protects traceability markings from abrasion. Each karabiner is individually tested and given Petzl's standard three year guarantee against any defects in materials or manufacture. The Petzl OXAN is available in two locking systems, EU or International versions:
Manual SCREW-LOCK locking system:
- Red indicator provides a visual warning when the karabiner is unlocked
- Recommended for harsh environments (mud, ice), where dust and dirt could cause an automatic locking mechanism to malfunction
- Recommended when a karabiner needs to be opened and closed occasionally
Automatic TRIACT-LOCK locking system:
- Unlocks quickly in two steps, by raising and then turning the sleeve
- Recommended when a karabiner needs to be frequently opened and closed
