Petzl VULCAN Steel Karabiner

High-strength asymmetrical karabiner

The Petzl VULCAN is a high-strength steel karabiner designed for use by rescue professionals. With a large gate opening and high strength, these karabiners are ideal for setting multiple anchors where conditions are difficult and weight is not an issue. The asymmetrical shape allows easy connection and good positioning of the device along the major axis. In addition, use the Petzl CAPTIV positioning bar to favour loading of the karabiner along the major axis, to keep it integrated with the device, and to limit the risk of it flipping. 'H' cross-section ensures an optimal strength/weight ratio and protects markings from abrasion. The unique Keylock system helps prevent snagging of the karabiner during manoeuvres. Individually tested and guaranteed for three years against any defects in materials or manufacture. Choose the VULCAN karabiner that is right for you:

SCREW-LOCK locking system (in European version only):
         - Red indicator provides a visual warning when the karabiner is unlocked
         - Recommended for harsh environments (mud, ice), where dust and dirt could cause an automatic locking mechanism to malfunction
         - Recommended when a karabiner needs to be opened and closed occasionally

Automatic TRIACT-LOCK locking system (in European or International versions):
         - Unlocks quickly in two steps, by raising and then turning the textured sleeve
         - Recommended when a karabiner needs to be frequently opened and closed
