Petzl RIG

Compact self-braking descender / belay device

The Petzl RIG is a compact self-braking descender primarily designed for experienced rope access workers. Installation is easy with clearly etched markings indicating the rope path. The safety gate allows the rope to be quickly installed while the device remains connected to the harness, reducing the risk of dropping the device and facilitating the passage of intermediate anchors. Pulling on the ergonomic handle allows the rope to be released and enabling control over the descent. The RIG features a stainless steel wear plate which improves durability by reinforcing the rope friction zone. When the handle is released, it is automatically returned to a position that reduces the risk of accidental snagging and the AUTO-LOCK system engages locking the rope without having to tie off. Once locked, the rope can be taken up without having to manipulate the handle, allowing for easy short ascents. The cam has a small thumb rest that allows the rope to be unlocked for giving slack or to belay a lead using climbing techniques. Backed by Petzl's three year guarantee against any defects in materials or manufacture. Should you have any questions in deciding if the Petzl RIG is right for your needs, please contact a Rigging Services branch nearest you.
