Petzl I'D L

Self-braking descender / belay device

The Petzl I'D L is a self-braking descender designed primarily for rescue. A comfortable and controlled descent is managed using the ergonomic handle. A stainless steel wear plate reinforces the rope friction zone improving durability. Correct rope installation is straight forward with clearly etched markings indicating rope path. To reduce the risk of accident due to user error, the I'D L features an integrated anti-panic function protecting the user if one pulls too hard on the handle and an anti-error catch which prevents accidents resulting from incorrect installation of the device on the rope. The safety gate allows the rope to be installed with the device remaining connected to the harness. The AUTO-LOCK system allows users to position themselves without having to manipulate the handle or tie off the device. Once locked, the rope can be taken up without having to manipulate the handle. The Petzl I’D L is compatible with 12.5 to 13 mm ropes and allows handling of loads up to 280 kg. Should you have any questions in deciding if the Petzl I'D L is right for your needs, feel free to contact a Rigging Services branch near you.
